Dr. Krohn is a native of New Mexico and holds a degree in
chemistry from the University of New Mexico. She obtained
her medical degree from Washington University and a masters
in public health from the Medical College of Wisconsin. She
is board certified in Pediatrics and is Diplomat in the
American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Krohn has been in
practice in Los Alamos for over 30 years.

Dr. Krohn provides care for infants and children, and is a strong advocate for breast feeding.
She can treat patients through the age of 22, and performs annual and sports physicals, wart treatments. circumcisions,
as well as management of attention deficit hyperactivity (ADHD), sleep problems, and asthma. She offers basic
laboratory tests for strep throat, basic blood work for hematocrits, flu tests, and tests for urinary tract infection.
Dr. Krohn also offers vaccinations, flu shots, and ear piercing. When requested by the family or patient, Dr. Krohn
also can utilize some alternative therapies, including nutritional supplements and homeopathy.
Her philosophy for treatment is to treat noninvasively whenever possible and to use the treatment that will restore the
health of the patient as quickly as possible. Her practice focuses on patient/family education as well as preventive medicine.
Dr. Krohn endeavors to teach her patients regarding their illnesses and how they and their families can care for the problem
and encourage healing. She considers the effect of stress and available support systems on health. She encourages clear
communication with patients and their families, as well as endeavoring to schedule appointments as quickly as possible.
Dr. Krohn is on the Medical Staff of Los Alamos Medical Center and admits patients to that hospital
when hospital treatment is required. While Dr. Krohn is qualified to treat the majority of the health
problems of her patients, she does refer to other specialists if the problem is more complex or serious.
Dr. Krohn is certified in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), a teacher of PALS, and is the Medical
Director. She heads the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee at LAMC and is in the Physician Engagement Group.
She is a member of the Physician Hospital Organization (PHO). In the past, Dr. Krohn has been on the boards
of Family Council and Casa Mesita.
Dr. Krohn's husband is retired from Los Alamos National Laboratories and her daughter is working toward her
PhD at the University of New Mexico. Dr. Krohn is an avid reader and makes a special effort to be current with
medical literature. She also reads mystery, espionage, Star Trek, and Harry Potter books. She is a quilter, is
presently on the board for Los Alamos Piecemakers Quilt Guild, and is a lifetime member of Girl Scouts. Dr. Krohn
in the process of hiking the Continental Divide Trail and is a geocacher. She is currently writing a book on
wilderness first aid.
Dr. Krohn is the coauthor of a number of books on allergy and environmental medicine.
